Insurance Policy

Dental Insurance is different than Medical Insurance.  In fact, we prefer to refer to “dental insurance plans” as “dental benefits plans.” The word insurance often misleads people to believe that their care will be covered in full, or that care not covered by their plan is not that important to their health.

Review your Dental Insurance Benefit Booklet. Please review the insurance benefit booklet you received from your provider to better understand the benefits that are available as part of your coverage. The patient payment portion covered for procedures varies depending on the coverage provided by your policy.

Estimates of Procedures are Provided. An estimate of the amount covered by your plan will be provided at the time of your treatment and in advance when possible. The estimate is based on the information provided to us and is never a guarantee of benefits or the amount that will be paid.

As a courtesy to patients, we file claims related to treatment in our office. This does not, however, transfer the responsibility of your financial obligation to the insurance company. If the amount paid by the insurance company is less than or greater than the estimate, then you will be billed the difference or issued a credit on your account. Please let us know if you have questions about our financial policies or financing options prior to scheduling your treatment.

Insurance Participation

As an out-of-network dental provider, we choose quality over quantity.  We do not participate “in-network” with dental benefits companies. This choice allows us to pursue the highest quality of care for our patients, and we'll explain why that is.

What is In-Network Participation? In-Network participation is when a dental provider signs a contract with a dental benefits provider, which determines costs, the specific care that is covered, the percentage of coverage, and the frequency of care allowed. Dental benefits providers make it so patients can receive care at discounted prices, and depending on an individual's health goals and financial circumstances, this option can make sense.

Get the Most for Your Money. At our practice, we strive for only the best in quality therapies and individualized care for our patients. As an out-of-network dental provider, we choose quality over quantity and can, therefore, invest the time and resources required for better treatments, results, and patient experience. As one of our patients, you will have some additional financial responsibilities when compared with your in-network options, but you will also gain the most value for your money. With a dental benefits plan that has out-of-network benefits, you can apply those program allowances toward your care while still being able to choose an unrestricted dental provider that you trust to do the best job for you. With out-of-network care at our office, you can expect:

  • A thorough review of your oral conditions, and what courses of action are available. Our goal is to help you with mutually agreed-upon solutions.
  • Time and dedication from your providers
  • Careful treatment that is as conservative as possible, with tooth longevity as the ultimate goal
  • Best-in-class materials

What if I do not have Dental Insurance? For patients without dental insurance, choosing a dental provider that is fully out-of-network is an especially appealing option. You can feel secure in the knowledge that your dentist provides all their patients with the same quality treatments for the same price.

In-House Membership Program We know dental care can be expensive. Ask about our practice’s in-house membership program, which we developed to help out our loyal patients.
